The bovine meat sector in Wallonia : Current situation and scenarios towards 2050
What are the main production systems for bovine meat in Wallonia today? How is the sector organised? What developments can be envisaged, and with what consequences in terms of production and inputs use?
This study provides an overview of the Walloon bovine meat sector, highlighting the diversity of production systems and the components of downstream flows.
In a second step, it presents a comparison of different prospective scenarios.
This study was carried out in an iterative and participatory manner. It is based on the literature, available statistical data, and the knowledge of experts in the sector provided during individual interviews and collective focus group discussions.
