The main objective of this barometer was to equip the Region with objective information to enable Wallonia to accelerate the transition toward a sustainable food system. It is based on the strategic objectives of the reference framework “Towards a sustainable food system in Wallonia.”
This work was published by the Walloon Food System Observatory – Directorate for Sustainable Development (SPW) – in the form of a detailed state of play, presented through three complementary perspectives:
- Characterisation of food flows – What does the Walloon food system produce, and what are the flows at each stage?
- Socio-economic analysis – What is the economic weight of our food system, and how accessible is food?
- “One Health” approach – What are the impacts of this system on human and animal health, and on the environment?
