The Baillet Latour Award for innovation in market gardening rewards exemplary initiatives in Wallonia and Brussels promoting approaches that respect the environment, the biodiversity, and the soil. It highlights concrete projects that help rethink agri-food systems by fostering synergies between academic research, field actors, and sustainable innovation supporting the ecological transition.
During the award ceremony, Céline Chevalier gave a talk about the principles, advantages and limitations of participatory research in agronomy. The presentation highlights the diversity of ways in which participatory research can be implemented, as well as on the importance of the most appropriate form of participation based on the objectives being pursued by all involved actors.
